SCOUTING THE RAVENS
THE SKINNY

Baltimore is led by QB Joe Flacco, a rookie out of the University of Delaware, and first-year coach John Harbaugh, a former Eagles assistant and special teams coordinator. Flacco leads an offense that is only in the middle of the pack in the NFL (17th in scoring, 19th in total offense), but is ranked third in rushing (146.8 yards per game) thanks to Willis McGahee (481 yards, five TDs), who has four touchdowns in his last four games. Defensively, the Ravens are still led by nasty linebacker Ray Lewis and safety Ed Reed. Lewis has three interceptions in his last two games. The Ravens are ranked third in the league in total defense, and third against the rush despite allowing 207 rushing yards against the Giants.

QUOTABLE

"Reggie White, Herschel Walker and Randall Cunningham. They were all still playing when I was younger, and then it evolved. Reggie White left, and Donovan McNabb came in and took over. I just remember them having a really good defense and having all those runs at the NFC Championship games, and finally getting to the Super Bowl. Then I recall just how disappointed all the people were in South Jersey after they lost." ? Flacco, the Ravens' rookie QB and Audubon, N.J., native on his memories of the Eagles.

KEY MATCHUP: COACHES

Eagles' Andy Reid vs. Baltimore's John Harbaugh. This battle of teacher against pupil pits them against each other for the first time, and it should be interesting considering the Eagles scored just 13 points in a tie with Cincinnati and have had trouble on third-and-short all season. Harbaugh should know Reid's tendencies in those situations, so if Reid is telegraphing his plays, Ravens like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are sure to capitalize.
