Predicting a winner in Super Bowl XLIII

Predicting a winner in Super Bowl XLIII
The Trib surveyed numerous celebs to get predictions on who will win Super Bowl XLIII between the Steelers and Arizona Cardinals at Raymond James Stadium:

Kevin James, television and movie actor: "You're from Pittsburgh, hmmmm, where do you go with this one? Pittsburgh is going to do it because of defense and experience. It's going to be ? this might be a little unorthodox ? but I'm going to go with 115-3."

Brooklyn Decker, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model: "I'm going to pick the Steelers, but I want the Cardinals to win. I'm from Charlotte. I want the Cardinals to win because that would make the Panthers look better, but I think the Steelers are going to pull it off."

Dominique Dawes, former Olympic gymnast and Yahoo! sports host: "Pittsburgh, 21-10. The Steelers have been dominant throughout the year. I don't know where to put my money, but I think the Steelers are going to prevail in the end, especially with a phenomenal coach like Mike Tomlin."

Jerome Bettis, NBC studio analyst and former Steelers running back: "I think the Steelers win, 24-21. But if the game goes into the 30s, Arizona wins. I don't think the Steelers have enough offensively to score 30 points. I think the game will be decided by the Arizona defense and the Steelers' offense."

Deion Sanders, NFL network analyst and former Pro Bowl defensive back: "Pittsburgh because of its defense. I'm a defensive guy, and I'll always pick defense over offense. Defense wins the game. If they do what they're capable of doing, they should have a lot of success."

Jesse Palmer, ESPN analyst, former "Bachelor" star and former quarterback: "I like Pittsburgh, 24-17. I picked against Arizona every week in the postseason, and I've obviously been wrong every week. The way the Steelers can run the Football, control the clock, I think Ben Roethlisberger is going to have a big game. I think Dick Lebeau's pressure packages are going to be big. Pittsburgh is not going to give them that many chances to get turnovers."

Ickey Woods, former Bengals running back: "I'd like to see Arizona win, but Pittsburgh's defense is just too tough. I'll say, 20-16, Steelers. It's real hard (to pick the Steelers). I played against them all my years in the NFL. There's a love-hate relationship with the Steelers, but I'm an AFC man by heart. I'd love to see the AFC win it, but I'd love to see somebody different put the crown on their head."

Warren Moon, Hall of Fame quarterback: "Pittsburgh, 24-22. It's hard to go against Pittsburgh. They have a solid organization and a Football team that excels in all three phases of the game."

Joe Thiesmann, former Super Bowl-winning quarterback: "I like Pittsburgh, 24-14. As long as Dick Lebeau is the defensive coordinator of the Steelers, they're going to be hunting for Super Bowls."

Vinny Testaverde, former University of Miami and NFL quarterback: "Not too high-scoring or too low ? 24-21, Steelers. I give the edge to the Steelers because I think defense wins championships. Then again, the explosiveness of the Cardinals is something I like. Kurt Warner can get the ball out of his hands, and I like his chances. I'm looking for a great performance and an exciting game."

Brentson Buckner, former Steelers defensive lineman: "I think Pittsburgh will win the game. I'm a Pittsburgh homer. I love the Steelers. I believe in defense, truly. Defense wins championships. You look at the Super Bowl performances of the Dick LeBeau defenses, and he's always given his team a chance to win the game. As good as they are this year, they're going to come up with some plays to put Ben Roethlisberger in predicaments where they can get points early. I predict Steelers, 24-13."

Darrelle Revis, New York Jets cornerback and former Aliquippa and Pitt star: "Steelers, 20-10. The key to this game is the Steelers pressuring Kurt Warner and getting him messed up in the pocket. Kurt has been releasing the ball very quick and guys are getting open. It's just a matter of pressuring Kurt and distracting him in ways where he can't read things fast. You have to put a lot of things in his face. We've all seen the Steelers get to guys like that. If they can just distract him in certain ways, where he doesn't know the pressure is coming, then you can get to him."

Mike Alstott, former Tampa Bay running back: "Pittsburgh, 24-21. I favor them because of Mike Tomlin. He was with us in Tampa Bay. He's doing well so far and getting lot of success."

Ronde Barber, Tampa Bay defensive back: "I'm pulling for Pittsburgh. Obviously, I'm a big fan of the way they play defense. To have the schedule they had and still be the number one defense is awesome. I have much respect and love for Mike Tomlin. I was with him for four years."

Merlin Olsen, Hall of Fame defensive lineman, broadcaster and actor: "It's perfectly logical to expect Pittsburgh to win this game, but I'd love to see the Cardinals step up and give them all they can handle in it."

Jerry O'Connell, television and movie actor: "I have no idea. I didn't know if the Steelers would beat the Ravens or if the Cardinals were going to win, and I have no idea going into this game."

Rod Woodson, former Steelers defensive back: "I can't predict, but I'll tell you this: I think it will be a great game. This might be a one-point game, a two-point game or a three-point game."

Nick Mangold, Jets center: "I'm not into predictions, but I am pulling for Santonio. I played with him at Ohio State. I don't know where that puts my prediction, but I want to see him do very well."

Tiki Barber, NBC studio analyst and former running back: "Somehow the Arizona Cardinals have found ways to win with trick plays or catching teams off guard. I think the Cardinals have a good chance to win this game."

Tim Brando, CBS Sports announcer and radio host: "I like Arizona. I like them because we live in an age where your resume to the end of the year doesn't matter as much as the matchup. They've got two guys on both sides lining up that Pittsburgh hasn't seen in the playoffs to this point. The Boldin-Fitzgerald factor is too good for even someone as good as Troy Polamalu to blow up. I look for a Neil Rackers field goal at the buzzer to win it, 31-28 or 30-27.

Stacy Keibler, actress and former WWE Diva "I like to ROOT for the underdog, so I'm going with Arizona. Since my Ravens got beat by the Steelers, I cannot cheer them on right now."

Clinton Portis, Redskins running back: "I really think Arizona has been explosive this postseason. I think Pittsburgh's defense is going to bring a lot of pressure, but with Kurt Warner throwing to Fitzgerald and Boldin and picking up the blitz and executing, I really think they can win by more than 10."

Andre Johnson, Texans receiver: "Arizona is a hot team right now. I have a lot of former teammates on that team right now. I would like to see those guys get a ring, but I don't know. Pittsburgh is a tough opponent. For some reason, I think Arizona is going to edge it out. It's going to be a close game, 20-17."

Derrick Ward, Giants running back: "I'm going to have to go with Arizona. Back-to-back underdogs. I think it's going to be a great game, 27-24."
