Baltimore Ravens News

News » NFL WEEK 13

Cincinnati at Indianapolis

Time: 1 p.m. (CBS)

Records: Bengals (1-10-1); Colts (8-4)

The skinny: The fight - at least, whatever was left - appears to be gone from the Bengals, especially after last week's 34-3 loss to the Ravens. The Colts have won an AFC-best five in a row.

Prediction: Colts, 37-9

Jacksonville at Chicago

Time: 1 p.m.

Records: Jaguars (4-8); Bears (6-6)

The skinny: If it weren't for the Chargers, Jacksonville would be the NFL's biggest disappointment. At least the Chargers manage to lose close games. The Bears can still win the division.

Prediction: Bears, 20-13

Cleveland at Tennessee

Time: 1 p.m.

Records: Browns (4-8); Titans (11-1)

The skinny: The Browns don't have either of their top two QBs and they don't have a tight end. They also don't have a chance against the Titans, who have won 14 of their last 15, dating back to '07.

Prediction: Titans, 30-3

Minnesota at Detroit

Time: 1 p.m.

Records: Vikings (7-5); Lions (0-12)

The skinny: There is no masking the predicament the Vikings' defense would have faced if they lost DTs Kevin Williams and Pat Williams. But they would need to lose Adrian Peterson and Jared Allen to lose to the Lions.

Prediction: Vikings, 23-21

Houston at Green Bay

Time: 1 p.m.

Records: Texans (5-7); Packers (5-7)

The skinny: Beware the Texans, the best 5-7 team in Football. The Packers are sliding faster than Starbucks stock, losing two in a row, four of the past five and allowing 86 points the last two games.

Prediction: Packers, 31-30

Atlanta at New Orleans

Time: 1 p.m.

Records: Falcons (8-4); Saints (6-6)

The skinny: Atlanta's Mike Smith should be NFC Coach of the Year, hands down. The Falcons have won four of the past five, a streak that included a 34-20 victory against the Saints Nov. 9.

Prediction: Falcons, 37-30

Philadelphia at New York

Time: 1 p.m. (Fox)

Records: Eagles (6-5-1); Giants (11-1)

The skinny: OK, so the Eagles took a step toward respectability with a 48-point outburst against Arizona on Thanksgiving. But they should be thankful they weren't playing the Giants, who can clinch the NFC East title.

Prediction: Giants, 27-16

Miami vs. Buffalo in Toronto

Time: 4:05 p.m.

Records: Dolphins (7-5); Bills (6-6)

The skinny: The Dolphins will discover what the Steelers did in August: The best part about playing in Toronto is the road back to Miami. FYI Canadian fans: The French word for "wildcat" is "chat sauvage."

Prediction: Dolphins, 30-24

Kansas City at Denver

Time: 4:05 p.m.

Records: Chiefs (2-10); Broncos (7-5)

The skinny: Why are the Broncos a fraud? After being the only team to win in Atlanta, they lost the following week at home to the Raiders. Now, after ending the Jets' five-game win streak - Oh no!

Prediction: Chiefs, 24-23

New York at San Francisco

Time: 4:05 p.m.

Records: Jets (8-4); 49ers (4-8)

The skinny: The 49ers' victory in Buffalo marked the first time this season a West Coast team won in the eastern-time zone (1-16). Maybe the West Coast weather will help Brett Favre, who can't play in the cold anymore.

Prediction: Jets, 34-33

New England at Seattle

Time: 4:05 p.m.

Records: Patriots (7-5); Seahawks (2-10)

The skinny: The Patriots' loss to the Steelers was their fifth against an AFC team this season. They haven't lost to an NFC team in their past 13 meetings, which is more bad news for Seattle.

Prediction: Patriots, 24-16

St. Louis at Arizona

Time: 4:15 p.m.

Records: Rams (2-10); Cardinals (7-5)

The skinny: Despite consecutive losses, the Cardinals can clinch their first division title since 1975 with a victory. That they are 4-0 in the division, including a 34-13 victory in St. Louis, makes this a foregone conclusion.

Prediction: Cardinals, 41-17

Dallas at Pittsburgh

Time: 4:15 p.m. (Fox)

Records: Cowboys (8-4); Steelers (9-3)

The skinny: Could this be a preview of a fourth Super Bowl matchup between the teams? Each team has won three in a row, but the Cowboys, who have never been to Heinz Field, haven't seen a defense like this.

Prediction: Steelers, 27-17

Washington at Baltimore

Time: 8:15 p.m. (NBC)

Records: Redskins (7-5); Ravens (8-4)

The skinny: The Redskins don't fare well against physical teams, having managed just 20 points in three games against the Giants and Steelers. The Ravens certainly qualify as a physical team.

Prediction: Ravens, 23-8

Tampa Bay at Carolina

Time: 8:30 p.m. Monday (ESPN)

Records: Buccaneers (9-3); Panthers (9-3)

The skinny: Like the Falcons, both Tampa Bay and Carolina have won four of their past five games, which explains the lack of separation in the NFC South. This will help to unclog the jam.

Prediction: Panthers, 23-20

Gerry DuLac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (9-4 last week; 116-64 for season, doesn't include Thursday games except for Thanksgiving
