PLAYER NOTES
--SS Dawan Landry is expected to play again this season after sustaining a spinal cord concussion on Sunday. He will wear a cervical collar for at least a week. "He'll be playing in some number of weeks," coach John Harbaugh said. Jim Leonhard will replace Landry in the starting lineup.
--SS Jim Leonhard will make his first start for the Ravens, replacing injured Dawan Landry (spinal cord concussion). He made six starts for the Buffalo Bills last season.
--NT Kelly Gregg will miss at least another game because of a hole in some cartilage in his knee. The injury potentially could end his season. He will be replaced by Justin Bannan.
--NT Justin Bannan will start at least another game for the injured Kelly Gregg. He is stout against the run but he doesn't make as many hustle plays as Gregg.
--CB Samari Rolle injured his shoulder late in the game on Sunday but he said that expects to play Monday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He could be limited in practice as a precautionary measure.
REPORT CARD VS. BROWNS
PASSING OFFENSE: C -- Rookie quarterback Joe Flacco took a step back from an impressive debut. He completed 13 of 19 passes for 129 yards but he threw his first two interceptions. His passer rating was only 47.8. Flacco was efficient hitting safe passes to the outside of the field, but he had trouble sticking them in the middle.
RUSHING OFFENSE: A -- This was the second straight impressive performance by a young but physical offensive line. In his first game of the season, Willis McGahee got the start but he shared the carries. Because of his speed to hit the edges, he was a nice complement to power back Le'Ron McClain. Rookie Ray Rice gave the team fresh legs in the fourth quarter.
PASS DEFENSE: A -- The Ravens harassed quarterback Derek Anderson, making three interceptions and recording five sacks. The Ravens' dominance here changed the game. Interceptions by Chris McAlister and Ed Reed (a 32-yard touchdown return) on the first two drives of the second half turned a 10-7 deficit to a 21-10 lead.
RUSH DEFENSE: B -- The tone was set by inside linebackers Ray Lewis and Bart Scott with their physical play. The Browns averaged 4.9 yards a carry, but they never established any rhythm in their running game. Justin Bannan has adequately replaced injured Kelly Gregg at nose tackle.
SPECIAL TEAMS: B -- With Yamon Figurs (hamstring) being a surprise scratch, Jim Leonhard did a serviceable job on returns. The Ravens averaged 26 yards on three kickoffs and 21 on one punt return. Sam Koch averaged 48.7 yards a punt. Tom Zbikowski and Tavares Gooden each had two special teams tackles. Kicker Matt Stover missed a field goal for the second straight game.
COACHING: A -- John Harbaugh has kept the Ravens focused despite not playing in Week 2. Their toughness on the offensive and defensive lines is a credit to his coaching style. Defensive coordinator Rex Ryan is getting back to his aggressive style. Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron is spreading out the carries nicely between three running backs.
