--The Ravens had double-digit penalties for the first time since their 13-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 5.
The problem Sunday came before the ball was snapped. Of the Ravens' 10 penalties, four were offside on the defense and two were false starts by the offense.
"I don't think the penalties were a factor in the game," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "It was just playing a really good football team that played better than us."
--Although Harbaugh refused to acknowledge that the Ravens were physically outplayed by the Giants -- "We're not going to concede that," he said -- his players did it for him.
"It was a thumping. It's the biggest thumping I've been a part of for a long time," DE Trevor Pryce said. "Even the Indianapolis game didn't feel like this one."
--K Matt Stover set the NFL record for most consecutive point-after touchdowns, but that's not what will be remembered about him from Sunday's 20-point loss at the New York Giants.
His 32-yard field-goal attempt was blocked by DT Fred Robbins, ricocheting off the lower part of his arm. The ball was recovered at the Ravens 33-yard line, setting up the Giants' second touchdown, which extended their lead to 13-0.
The wind at Giants Stadium -- which was listed at 17 mph at kickoff -- played a part in the blocked kick.
"I know I hit the ball a little low because of the wind," he said. "You couldn't fluff it up there today going that direction."
--It was only the second time this season that the Ravens didn't win time of possession. The other time was at Indianapolis, where the Ravens lost by 28 points.
--The Ravens' inactives were RT Willie Anderson, WRs Terrance Copper and Marcus Smith; TE Daniel Wilcox; CB Evan Oglesby; LB Antwan Barnes; and DT Lamar Divens. Todd Bouman was the third quarterback.
