Baltimore Ravens Notes, Quotes 2008-09-27
--The last time the Ravens were at Heinz Field, linebacker Bart Scott threatened to "kill" Hines Ward after the Steelers wide receiver leveled Scott with a block.

Ward, who didn't play in last season's finale in Baltimore, isn't worried about his first on-field meeting with Scott since the incident.

"I'm pretty sure if I see Bart out in the street, outside of football, he's not going to kill me," Ward said.

--Strong safety Dawan Landry was released from Maryland Shock Trauma Center a day after the Ravens' 28-10 win over the Cleveland Browns and is expected to return to the field this season after suffering a spinal cord concussion.

"His stability tests are all normal," coach John Harbaugh said. "He will be in a cervical collar for at least a week, and then they'll evaluate him further and then we'll just take it from there. He'll be playing in some number of weeks, and it won't be too many weeks."

--Reserve quarterback Troy Smith practiced for the first time since coming down with tonsillitis on Aug. 22.

The former Heisman Trophy winner was able to take turns running the scout team after he had regained 10 of the 20 pounds he lost because of the illness.

It's unknown when Smith will suit up for a game.

"I'm just playing it by ear," Smith said. "My body will let me know when I'm ready."

--Trevor Pryce's sack of the Browns' Derek Anderson in the second quarter gave the defensive end 80 career sacks, which is fifth best among active players.

--Spurred by linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo, 20 players registered to vote through Rock the Vote.

--The NFL took away a team sack from the Ravens -- the one where Browns quarterback Derek Anderson tripped and running back Jamal Lewis fell on top of him. The Ravens now have six sacks on the season.

--This marks the Ravens' only appearance on Monday Night Football this season.

--The Ravens have won four of their past five games against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

--The Ravens are 4-6 on Monday Night Football, going 0-3 last season. Their losses came against the Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots.

--The Ravens are looking for their second 3-0 start in franchise history. The last time they did so was 2006.

BY THE NUMBERS: 3 -- Rookie quarterbacks since 1970 that have started a season 2-0. The list includes the Ravens' Joe Flacco, the Broncos' John Elway and the Chargers' Ryan Leaf.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "The Ravens aren't rebuilding. We know that usually happens when you change the head coach. I'd say 'remodeling' would be a better description." -- Ravens coach John Harbaugh, on the perception of the AFC North-leading Ravens.
