--The Ravens might be without one of their draft picks for the first minicamp.
Inside linebacker Jason Phillips, the Ravens' fifth-round pick out of TCU, tore his meniscus at the Scouting Combine on Feb. 23 and had knee surgery a few days later. Rehabilitation was scheduled to take six to eight weeks.
--The riskiest pick for the Ravens might be third-round defensive back Ladarius Webb.
He played two seasons at Southern Mississippi before being dismissed for a violation of team rules. Webb explained that he frequented night clubs with "the wrong crowd." He missed some curfews and broke other team rules that he declined to discuss in detail.
"I've learned to make better choices," Webb said. "I was a young guy making stupid decisions for all the wrong reasons. Now I'm older."
--DE-OLB Paul Kruger, the Ravens' second-round pick from Utah, declared himself "100 percent healthy."
Kruger lost one kidney in a car accident in 1999 and needed 50 staples to close incisions following a stabbing in January 2008.
"I know teams that teams are a little concerned about me, but, to me, it's just another scar on my body," Kruger said. "I've experienced some traumatic things, but I've played through them for years. It's disappointing that people would think of me like that."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "It's been a long journey. Baltimore just got a great player. I'm not going to let them down. I'm going to give them everything I got. I felt like I was the best tackle in the draft." -- A teary-eyed Michael Oher on being drafted in the first round by the Ravens.
