Joe Flacco will remain the Ravens' starting quarterback for the rest of the season, coach John Harbaugh reaffirmed a day after the Ravens were routed 31-3 by the Indianapolis Colts.

But Flacco probably will not have one of his best offensive linemen for the rest of the year.

Guard Marshal Yanda is likely out for the season with a serious knee injury.

"Based on preliminary look, he does not look good," Harbaugh said. "My guess is he's going to be out for the season."

Yanda, a second-year starter, went down in the final two minutes of the Ravens' 31-3 loss at Indianapolis.

"It's a big blow," Harbaugh said. "Yanda is a Raven in every way. He's really played well. He's been an anchor for our offensive line."

According to Harbaugh, offensive tackle Adam Terry could replace Yanda at right guard if Terry recovers from an ankle injury. Backups Chris Chester and Oniel Cousins are "in the mix," Harbaugh said.

"We'll see how it shakes out," Harbaugh said.

A third-round pick from a year ago, Yanda could become the first offensive starter to go on injured reserve for the Ravens this season.

Meanwhile, Harbaugh backed his commitment to Flacco, saying once again that he will stick with his rookie first-round pick for the rest of the season.

"We believe he's our starter. Joe's our guy," Harbaugh said. "I'm never a guy that's going to sit up here and say, 'Never ever.' But I don't envision a scenario today where Joe is not going to be our starter this year save an injury."

Harbaugh hinted last week that Flacco would remain the starter. But Flacco is coming off his worst game in his brief career, throwing a season-high five interceptions. He is the 29th-rated quarterback (60.6) in the NFL.

Flacco has thrown five interceptions the past two games and has seven for the season. Only 49ers quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan has thrown more picks this season (eight).

"It's just an issue of him learning from those mistakes," Harbaugh said. "We keep saying that, but we don't want the turnovers next week. We're going to press real hard, and he's going to work hard to make it sooner rather than later."

The other problem for Flacco is his inability to generate big plays.

He has only completed five passes over 20 yards. His yards per pass attempt (5.86) ranks 26th in the NFL.

To make matters worse, he is struggling at a time when Matt Ryan is flourishing.

Ryan, who was selected third overall, has completed 57.8 percent of his passes and has averaged 194 yards passing. He has thrown five touchdowns and three interceptions.

Flacco has completed 62.5 percent of his attempts and has averaged 168.8 yards passing. He has passed for one touchdown and seven interceptions, the worst ratio in the NFL.

"It's a very complicated position to play," Harbaugh said. "It's not so basic as speed of the game. There are a number of elements within a play or within a defense that can confuse a quarterback. But I would not categorize him as being confused. I think he's learning."
